Amgen Scholars allows undergraduate students to participate in cutting-edge research opportunities under top faculty at one of fourteen premier educational institutions within the United States.

Overview

The Amgen Scholars Program aims to open the door to research opportunities at 25 host institutions for undergraduates from any four-year college or university in a given region. Made possible through a commitment of more than $80 million since 2006, Amgen Scholars allows undergraduates from across the globe to participate in cutting-edge research opportunities at world-class institutions.

Undergraduate participants benefit from undertaking a research project under top faculty, being part of a cohort-based experience of seminars and networking events, and taking part in a symposium in their respective region where they meet their peers, learn about biotechnology, and hear from leading scientists. Amgen Scholars is hosted at fourteen premier educational institutions within the United States:

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Be an undergraduate student enrolled in accredited four-year colleges or universities
  • Be a sophomore (with four quarters or three semesters of college experience), a junior, or a non-graduating senior (who is returning in the fall to continue undergraduate studies)
  • Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or above
  • Have an interest in pursuing a Ph.D. or M.D.-Ph.D.

Award
